About AirWolfi
Our senior Powder Guide is from Austria. He has over twenty-five years of certified mountain and ski guide experience, and is still eager to bring skiing guests to perfection. He lives in Kaprun, located at the base of Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner. In the winter, his specialty is free riding.
He is responsible for a wide range of ski trainings, from avalanche courses for the Snow Safety Center to training for ski instructors in the Netherlands, Germany and Austria.
He has done, both with friends and guests, some technically difficult runs on skis at the Dachstein, in Chamonix, the Dolomites and of course next to his home, the Pallavicini Rinne on the Glockner. Wolfgang and Martijn have known each other for over twenty years and have climbed beautiful rock faces in the Dolomites together, such as the north face of the Westliche Zinne and Pilastropijler on the Tofane de Roses. In his early years, as he worked for the military, he completed the prestigious Patrouille des Glaciers.
Wolfgang is a great source of experience and a diligent and highly structured guide who's a fan of checklists. Many students appreciate this aspect of his personality, as it gives them good structure for managing complex avalanche situations or steep slopes.
In his spare time, he becomes “airwolfi” helicopter pilot. He speaks Dutch and English and has a great knowledge of the eastern Alps’ jewels.
