About Saskia
Our benchmark at PowderGuides. Saskia is not only the bridge between the guests and the guides who are every day in the mountains; she also ensures that your trip is carefully taken care of. She has an important role in the organization, and is a reference for both customers and guides.
Fortunately, Saskia does not only work behind a desk. Her great passion is the Academic Dressage, and she therefore can happily spend her free hours with her two beautiful horses; the Spanish Far Nogal and the Frysian Kashmir.
Saskia is not a mountain guide, but she undoubtedly knows a lot about mountaineering. She loves off-piste skiing on fresh powder, and always enjoys a good trip out. Saskia is married to Martijn, and they often go in the mountains with their dog Tibet, sometimes on skis, or with the tent for a weekend in Queyras, her favorite spot. Adventure is mandatory for her balance, whether it is trekking along the Canadian west coast to the Tierra del Fuego, or hiking in Patagonia or in the Himalayas.
Saskia has been trained as a fashion designer and illustrator. Thanks to her tremendous discipline, she graduated with honors from both the Fashion Academy in Amsterdam and the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague.
She is the host of Chalet Le Belvédère and the main office contact in Powder Guides, she is a very valued team member.
